ZOË SIMON: ACTRESS, LIFE MODEL, PEFORMANCE ARTIST, PLAYWRIGHT. Based in London Zoë is creating and performing in visceral arts projects. Zoë was attached as a performer and playwright to The White Bear Theatre, where she made waves with her raw performances and drew on her own experiences to create gritty character-driven narratives and angry, sawn off dialogue. Plays: SATURDAY NIGHT (2008) (nominated for Off West End’s 2009 Adopt a Playwright Award, nominated for a 2007 Pearson Award), SCRATCH (2006) and HEAD (2004), which went to The Underbelly, Edinburgh 2004 and was Fringe First nominated. Roles: Evadne in THE MAID’S TRAGEDY (2005) and Mia Wallace in Mandrephus Andregon’s PULP FICTION – LIVE! (2004), the first stage adaptation of Tarantino’s cult classic. Zoë is the muse and leading lady of groundbreaking Czech artist Tereza Buskova and has appeared in Buskova’s films MASOPUST (2010), SPRING EQUINOX (2009), FORGOTTEN MARRIAGE (2008), WEDDING RITUALS AND TOUCH (2007), also in live performances: THE RITUALS OF SPRING EQUINOX (2009), FESTIVE GARMENT (Act Art 6, 2008) and BEAUTY FOR ONE DAY (specially commissioned for The Barbican’s Seduced: Art and Sex exhibition, The Window Gallery, 2007). Zoë is the first life model ever to have lectured at The National Gallery on modelling (BENEATH THE SKIN, 2010), she has also spoken about life modelling on BBC Radio 4 (OFF THE PAGE: STRIPPING OFF, 2009) and has appeared as a model on THE SEVEN AGES OF BRITAIN: THE AGE OF MONEY (BBC1, 2010) and THE ONE SHOW: THE VALUE OF ART (BBC1, 2010). Zoë will be featured as a model in THE STORY OF SCULPTURE (BBC4, 2011).
